Membership 2026

The 2025 winter season has been an exceptional year for our Club, highlighted by success on the field, strong community engagement, and continued investment in our facilities.

Our Senior Men’s Rugby team capped off a remarkable season by winning the Thames Valley Senior B Championship, defeating long-time rivals Coromandel in a thrilling final. After losing just one match all season that to Coromandel in round one. Therafter the team showed resilience, commitment, and pride throughout the campaign to reach the final. Congratulations to the players, coaches, management, and our loyal supporters who travelled and cheered the team on week after week.

Hosting the TVRFU Swampfoxes for a pre-season fixture was another milestone, drawing a large crowd and marking the first time our Club has welcomed the TVRFU senior team.

Beyond senior rugby, participation across all codes continues to grow:

  • Junior Football enjoyed a highly successful season with over 70 players, including a girls’ team that finished the year unbeaten.
  • Junior Rugby saw both Year 3 and Year 5 teams reach the finals in Te Aroha, celebrating with a well-earned end-of-season trip to Funzone in Whitianga.
  • The Club also fielded two senior netball teams, further expanding sporting opportunities in our town.
  • The Club was also proud to host 50 Canadian high school rugby players and management, strengthening international connections and showcasing our community spirit.

Community fundraising remained a strong focus. Our Pink Day raised $2,500 for the local Cancer Society, while Semi-Final Day generated over $700 for the local Fire Brigade — fantastic outcomes made possible by the generosity of our members and supporters.

We are committed to continue with the promotion of Friday night sports as we have done in the past with potential of increased utilisation of the tennis court enclosure in looking to promote other exciting sports like netball, hockey and perhaps futsall. We already have hockey surrounds, and through generous donation a good supply of hockey gear. We have also recently added some mobile lighting solutions to ensure some evening practice and game time will be achievable.

The Club continues to work hard to maintain our existing facilities and considerable effort and expense has been incurred lately refreshing the club rooms and the addition of a great new deck area. The new umbrellas makes the deck area both a great sports viewing arena and also a comfortable area to relax and socialise. Our electronic scoreboard has been a great addition to our amenities.

We continue to invest in new uniforms for all our sporting teams as we appreciate looking good is a big part of a success oriented club and we intend to build on that in all means possible.

We encourage all our supporters to become a member of the Club to enable participation in all the above sports and allow us to continue to provide both sporting and recreation facilities for all members of our community.

Safe to say that without members, clubs just cease to exist. Members help create the future, we hope that you can continue to support us.
